Eligibility criteria for the Physics courses
The following conditions need to be fulfilled for joining any of the physics courses:
1. One can opt for the B.Sc courses at the undergraduate level in any of the degree colleges offering the course.
2. The IITs, TIFR, IISc, and JNU offer admission to the Post Graduate courses through JEE. There are Joint Admission Test to M.Sc (JAM) or institute level entrance tests and interviews for aspirants.
3. In order to join the doctoral program for physics, one has to appear for NET/GATE along with the institution level exams or interviews.
4. In IIT Delhi, one can join for B.Tech in Engineering Physics by appearing for JEE.
5. Candidates in the senior secondary level, who are proficient in physics can appear for the renowned exams such as National Standard Examination in physics and then the National and International Physics Olympiad Examinations. The Indian Association of Physics Teachers under the aegis of HBCSE and TIFR conduct these exams.
Once the candidate clears the Physics Olympiad, a bright career path in Physics is established in the reputed institutes such as NISER Bhubaneswar, IISc Bangalore, TIFR, etc. After this, they can become scientists in renowned national labs and scientific institutions.
